FAQ

If you have any questions about our gazebos, pergolas and decks, please feel free to ask.  Below is a series of answers to common question on what consents are required on placing a gazebo or pergola in your garden or how to put them together.

Do I need council approval and/or a building permit for my Gazebo?

We recommend you check with your local Council regarding requirements as these can vary from area to area.  For most councils, a permit is not required if the floor space does not exceed 10m2 or 3m in height.  In some states (NSW & VIC) up to 20m2. Some councils allow a larger floor space before requiring a permit, so it is always best to contact your local council to get the right advice if you’re unsure.

What timber do you use?

All of our manufactured products are made from environmentally friendly timber, grown in Australian plantations.  We pride ourselves on only using timber, which is clean, safe and has outstanding weather durability.

Is the pine treated?

Yes, all our products are stained with an anti-fungi and UV protection stain.  Even though timber is extremely durable in its natural form, exposure to Australia’s harsh climate will cause some damage. Untreated timber can turn grey over time and may split, which is why we stain our products, to ensure longevity.  While our stain won’t peel or crack, over time the colour will fade from exposure to the sun.  We recommend re-staining your Gazebo every 2-3 years, depending on the level of exposure.

Do they have plumbing?

No, we do not provide plumbing.  This can of course be done; you would need to contact a local registered plumber and they will provide you with a quotation.

Do you provide installation?

Yes, we can arrange installation for you.  If you wish to assemble yourself, we recommend a builder or a home handyman with sound building knowledge.  Our products are flat packed onto a pallet making them easy to collect from the nearest depot.  We will also provide a full set of instructions for easy installation.  It is quicker and easier with 2 people.  If you require assistance during the assembly, we are only a call away.

Do they come with a guarantee?

Yes, all our products are covered by a 12-month warranty.  If any components are damaged when they arrive, we will replace them as long as you let us know, including taking photos of any damages and emailing them within 7 days of arrival at your property.

Do you have a showroom I can visit? Yes, we have displays at our factory in Kilsyth, Victoria.  Please contact us at shop@outdoorable.com.au to arrange a suitable date and time.
